On Thursday, October 22, the university held the '13th Lee Won-gil Humanism Award Ceremony and Scholarship Presentation' at Francisco Hall in Myeongdong Cathedral, Seoul. The event was attended by President Jun-kyu Choi, GLOTECH Chairman Deok-hyeong Lee, Father Deok-hyo Lee (Archdiocese of Washington, USA), representatives of the award-winning organization, and scholarship recipients.

The 'Lee Won-gil Humanism Award' was established in 2013 to honor the life of the late Lee Won-gil, who practiced love for neighbors based on the spirit of Catholic humanism. Every year, an individual or organization that has practiced the spirit of humanism and contributed to society is selected and awarded.

The event proceeded in the following order: △ Welcoming Address △ Congratulatory Address △ Screening of the Award-Winning Organization Introduction Video △ Humanism Award Presentation △ Scholarship Certificate Presentation and Student Presentations.

This year's award-winning organization was the 'Holy Mother's Fence Community' (Director Yong-soo Ha), which has supported the social reintegration and economic independence of former convicts and vulnerable groups. Located in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do, the Holy Mother's Fence Community received a cash prize of 50 million KRW in recognition of its contribution to establishing a foundation for self-reliance for vulnerable groups by operating the 'Jireh Whole Wheat Bakery.'
Yong-soo Ha, Director of the Holy Mother's Fence Community, delivered his acceptance speech saying, "I express my deep gratitude to Mr. Lee Won-gil."

Following this, a total of 50 million KRW in 'Lee Won-gil Scholarships' was presented to 23 students selected in four areas: Academic, Volunteer, Design, and Realization (Entrepreneurship). This year, the Realization (Entrepreneurship) sector was reorganized into three stages—Seed, Sprout, and Fruit—to provide support according to the stage of entrepreneurial growth.
The award ceremony concluded as an occasion to reflect on the humanistic spirit of Mr. Lee Won-gil and to encourage both the organization that has practiced love for neighbors and students taking on challenges in various fields.
