Selection Process

1) Candidates will be selected by the Dean of Academic Affairs within the established quota for the exchange program and approved by the President.

2) Selection will be based on the cumulative grade point average (GPA) up to the semester immediately preceding the application, within the established quota. (In the event of a tie, priority will be given to the student with a higher total number of earned credits, followed by the student with a higher number of completed semesters.)

Exchange Quota

1) Up to 2% of the total enrollment quota for each undergraduate department/major.

2) At the request of Korea University, a maximum of 10 students may be nominated per institution (there is no limit for summer/winter sessions).

Coursework and Scope

1) Students may select and take any courses offered by either institution; it is also permissible to take courses exclusively at the host (exchange) university. (Note: Courses related to teaching certification or professional qualifications must be taken at this university.)

2) Students may not take courses that are identical to those they have already completed. (Please consult with the relevant department/major to confirm whether a course is considered identical.)

3) Courses previously taken at this university must be retaken at this university; they cannot be retaken at the host (exchange) university.

Credit Limits

1) Summer/Winter Sessions: A maximum of 6 credits may be earned, including courses taken at either institution.

2) This limit applies to the total number of credits that can be earned during a summer or winter session, including courses taken at this university and credits recognized from overseas language programs.

Grading and

Credit Recognition

1) Courses completed at the host (exchange) university will be recognized and substituted for equivalent courses at this university. Courses will be recorded on your academic transcript. Grades (scores) earned at the host institution will be converted to align with this university’s grading scale before being entered.

2) Credits earned at the host institution will be recognized as an equivalent number of credits at this university.

3) The total number of credits earned at other domestic or international institutions—through domestic credit exchange programs, overseas exchange student programs, or overseas field studies—may be recognized toward your degree at this university only up to a maximum of one-half of the total credits required for graduation.
