Notice Regarding Applications for New, Modified, or Discontinued Student-Designed Majors (Semester 2, 2026 Academic Year)

Please refer to the following information regarding the application process for new, modified, or discontinued Student-Designed Majors.

Students who wish to apply should do so within the designated period.

◈ What is a Student-Designed Major? 

     A major program designed and pursued autonomously by students to foster diversity in the selection of fields of study.

1. Eligibility: Students enrolled for at least two semesters (students in their 8th/final semester are eligible only if they plan to enroll for an additional semester).

2. Application Period: Monday, October 26, 2026 – Friday, November 13, 2026.

3. How to Apply (Refer to the "2026 Student-Designed Major Guidebook")

  - New Application: Submit an application and a study plan (download the provided templates) via the Trinity portal.

  - Changes/Withdrawal: Submit an application form (download the provided template).

                                            (If changing courses, a revised study plan must also be submitted.)

4. Selection Process: Application Submission > Review of Documents and Courses > Student-Designed Major Review Committee > Academic Affairs Committee > Final Selection and Announcement.

5. Evaluation Criteria: Alignment with career planning, rationale for the application, appropriateness of the major title, and coherence between the major and the selected courses.

6. Announcement of Results: Individual notification by the end of December.
