Changes to the Excused Absence Application Process for the
2nd Semester of the 2026 Academic Year
As the application for excused absences will be computerized starting from the 2nd semester of the 2026 academic year, the application and processing procedures will be provided below on an ongoing basis. Students concerned must submit their applications within the designated period.
※ Please be sure to check the attached Student Guide to Excused Absences and Application Guide before applying.
A. Reasons for Recognized Excused Absences and Permitted Criteria:

B. Excused Absence Application Guidelines
1) Criteria for Recognizing Excused Absences (※ No. 1 ~ 11)

- *For the final reflection of attendance for an excused absence, please contact the department offering the course for which the excused absence was requested.
2) How to Apply for an Excused Absence
※ No. 1 ~ 11 (excluding No. 6, 7, 10, and 11)
· Students must apply directly through the Trinity system.

· Uploading supporting documents is mandatory (all documents must be uploaded for each date).
· For No. 4 Reserve Forces Training Excused Absence, the system application procedure is the same, but students attending Reserve Forces training on campus do not need to upload documents (individual attendees must upload supporting documents).
※ No. 7 (Menstrual Excused Absence)
· Students must apply directly through the Trinity system.

Applications submitted through the Trinity – Excused Absence Application tab will not be recognized.
※ No. 6 (Events)
· Students must not apply through the Trinity system (applications submitted through the system will not be recognized).
- · Submit the Excused Absence Authorization Form and supporting documents with the approval of the head of the student's first major department (students without an assigned major must obtain approval from the head of the College of Liberal Studies).
· The same procedure applies to excused absences for courses offered by other majors.
3) How to Cancel an Excused Absence (※ No. 1 ~ 11, excluding No. 6, 7, 10, and 11)
· Students must cancel the application directly through the Trinity system.

- *Applications for No. 7 (Menstrual Excused Absence) cannot be changed or canceled once submitted.
4) In Case of an Error When Uploading Supporting Documents (※ No. 1 ~ 11, excluding No. 6, 7, 10, and 11)
· When uploading two or more documents, convert them into a single file by compressing them into a ZIP file or merging them into a PDF file.
· Reboot the device, delete cookies, and re-upload the documents at a lower resolution.
· If the same error occurs, try again the following day.
· The Academic Affairs Services Team cannot upload the documents on behalf of students.
C. Important Notes
· The Excused Absence Form must be submitted within 3 days of the date of absence (within one week in the case of an unforeseen excused absence). If submitted after the deadline, the absence will not be recognized for attendance purposes.
· Approval is granted only to students whose absences remain within the permitted absence limit for each course, and excused absences are not permitted for examinations or other activities directly related to grades.
· During the summer/winter session, an excused absence may be used a maximum of once during the class period.
· For an excused absence during the summer/winter session, the application must be submitted on the day following the absence.
- *When applying for an excused absence, the instructor will recognize the student's attendance upon submission of the substitute assignment for the excused absence specified in the course syllabus (excluding No. 4).
- *Please be aware that disadvantages may arise due to failure to check the notice or insufficient understanding of its contents.
