On Monday, August 31, the ‘2026 White Coat Ceremony’ was held at the main auditorium of the Cardinal Jeong Jin-seok Pharmacy Building on campus for fifth-year pharmacy students preparing for their practical training.

The White Coat Ceremony is an event where prospective pharmacists, anticipating their practical training, wear white coats and reaffirm the value of respect for life and their responsibilities as pharmacists through an oath.

On this day, after donning their white coats, the students participated in a blessing of hands and the oath of prospective pharmacists, reinforcing the attitude and mindset they must uphold in the field.

The event proceeded in the following order: an opening prayer by Father Lee Jeong-min, followed by a congratulatory address by Vice President for Academic Affairs Lee Sang-kyun, ▲ the White Coat Ceremony, ▲ the Hand Blessing, ▲ the Pharmacist's Oath, ▲ remarks from representatives of practical training institutions, ▲ remarks by Dean of the College of Pharmacy Seo Jae-hong, ▲ the presentation of student council commemorative gifts, and ▲ a closing prayer.

Min Mi-na, Head of Pharmacy at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital; Kim Yun-seon, Head of Pharmacy at Incheon St. Mary's Hospital; and Bang Ji-wook, pharmacist at the Bucheon Pharmaceutical Association, also attended to offer words of encouragement to the students preparing for their practical training.

The students, now wearing their white coats, will gain their first practical experience as prospective pharmacists in real-world settings, such as hospitals and community pharmacies. Through this training, they plan to learn the roles required of pharmacists in the field and deeply internalize the attitude of treating patients and lives with respect.
