The Catholic University of Korea ranked 201–300th globally and tied for 14th domestically in the '2026 THE Sustainability Impact Ratings' announced by the British global university evaluation agency Times Higher Education (THE), achieving its highest performance since participating in the evaluation.

The THE Impact Rankings is a global university assessment that comprehensively measures universities' research, education, social contribution, policies, and partnerships based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The university has shown continuous growth, ranking 601–800th in 2024, 401–600th in 2025, and entering the global top 201–300th this year, marking three consecutive years of climbing the ranks.

In this year's evaluation, the university's performance in the following areas was prominently reflected:

  • No Poverty (SDG 1)
  • Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3)
  • Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9)

Particularly in the Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9) category, the university achieved a global rank of 100th, gaining international recognition for its competitiveness in research and industry-academic cooperation.

This milestone is evaluated as the fruit of the university's consistent efforts toward sustainable development, including supporting vulnerable groups, local community engagement, research in medical/health and bio fields, and strengthening industry-academic cooperation infrastructure.

Especially, the university's social contribution and innovation capabilities in health and medical fields—driven by its medical, nursing, and pharmacy schools, along with its affiliated hospital network—significantly bolstered the high ratings.

President Choi Jun-kyu stated, "This achievement is the objective international recognition of our university's efforts to practice truth, love, and service based on our founding philosophy of respect for humanity. We will continue to advance our education and research systems based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to grow as a university that contributes to the sustainable development of both local and global societies."
