Students from our university achieved outstanding results at the "2026 POSCO SEED" Results Sharing Competition, hosted by POSCO Group and the POSTECH Institute for Sustainability, winning the Top Excellence Award, Excellence Award, and Special Award.
The "2026 POSCO SEED Level-up Ground" is a program where students from 14 universities across the country present the outcomes of ESG and social contribution projects developed alongside industry experts from POSCO Group.
During the first semester of the 2026 academic year, our university ran a Project-Based Learning (PBL) course through the Department of Business Administration's "Sustainable Management Planning Practice: Capstone Design" class in collaboration with POSCO Wide. In this course, students designed ESG and social contribution ideas based on real-world corporate challenges and proposed viable solutions.

In the presentation category of the competition held at the POSCO Center in Seoul, the "Spongebob" team (Sang-yeol Park, Da-gyeong Kim, Do-yeon Kim, Tae-ju Park, Yu-jin Yang) won the Top Excellence Award for proposing an ESG idea that stores and reuses rainwater using permeable blocks made from golf course grass clippings.

In the poster exhibition category, the Excellence Award went to the "MSG" team (Eun-seo Sim, Ye-seong Jo, Yu-na Ju, Bae-gyeong Wang, Su-yeon Im, Seong-jun Park), who presented an eco-friendly underground parking lot improvement idea utilizing POSCO slag and natural moss.

Additionally, in the project presentation category of the "2026 Rebound Level-up Ground" held on the metaverse platform ZEP, the "High Five" team (Eun-bi Jang, Ji-yeong Lee, Jun-hyeok Park, Hye-won Shin, Seo-hyeon Choi) won the Special Award for presenting an artificial floating island idea aimed at preventing safety accidents and improving water quality in golf course water hazards.
Sang-yeol Park from the "Spongebob" team, which won the Top Excellence Award, shared his thoughts: "I was able to grow tremendously while preparing for this project. I want to thank my teammates who worked hard together, the professors who guided us, and the officials at POSCO Wide."
Professors Seung-gyun Kim and Jae-yeol Seong of the Department of Business Administration, who guided the students, noted: "We hope the experience our students gained by fiercely brainstorming to solve real-world industry challenges will translate into practical capabilities that will lead future society."
