On May 22nd (Friday), the Catholic Church held the "2026 School Opening Memorial Misa" in the conference room of the K Hall of the main school.

The mass was filled with time to reflect on the value of the university's educational ideology, "truth, love, and service," and to express gratitude to members who have devoted themselves silently to the development of the Catholic University community.

After the Mass, a long-term faculty and staff award ceremony was held, which was a strong support for the development of the university. This year, a total of 19 faculty members, including seven people with 30 years of service, seven people with 20 years of service, and five people with 10 years of service, received merit plaques and were encouraged for their deep work.

At the subsequent government award transfer ceremony, Professor Na Gun of Biomedical Chemical Engineering was honored with the Science and Technology Packaging in recognition of his contribution to the development of the country through the promotion of science and technology.

The "2025 Outstanding Department" award ceremony, which led to cooperation and innovation within the school, was also held. The "Korean Language Education Operation Team" was selected in the recommendation section of its own department and the "undergraduate university operation team" in the recommendation section of other departments, respectively, to be recognized for its performance in improving organizational culture and improving administrative efficiency.

In particular, this year, the appointment ceremony of the first college president, which will lead to a new leap forward for the university, added meaning. Professor Ra Joon-young (head of the College of Business Administration), Professor Noh Sang-wook (head of the AI Electronics Information Convergence University), and Professor Yoo Hee-joo (head of the BioHealth Convergence University) were appointed as the new dean, and we plan to establish a strong academic specialization and professional education and research environment.

The grand finale of the event was marked by the student oath ceremony of the "2026 Overseas Culture Exploration Scholarship Program." The national team "Camino Sahara" expressed its commitment to practice the spirit of "truth, love, and service" on the world stage with pride as a Catholic university student.

The celebration of the opening of the university ended with a gathering where all members vowed to grow the community with one mind while reflecting on the university's brilliant history and identity.
