On Wednesday, April 22, Monsignor Mario Biffi, Head of the North East Asia Section at the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, visited the university.

Monsignor Mario Biffi, who hails from Milan, Italy, majored in Chinese Studies, Theology, and Canon Law. After serving as a Holy See diplomat in countries such as Cameroon and Kuwait, he has been serving as the Head of the North East Asia Section at the Secretariat of State of the Holy See since 2023.

This visit was organized as part of the Korea Foundation (KF) invitation program, designed to allow key figures in political affairs to examine Korea's economic development process and Seoul's AI utilization policies, while enhancing their understanding of foreign policy and emerging security issues.

Monsignor Mario Biffi held a friendly meeting with President Jun-kyu Choi, and in a dialogue with Professor Sang-yoon Ma of the School of International Studies, he exchanged views on the security situation on the Korean Peninsula, relations with North Korea, and measures for cooperation in Northeast Asia.

This visit is expected to serve as an opportunity to expand exchanges among key political figures and broaden the scope of international interaction.
