On Monday, December 29th, the Gayeonghoe, the general alumni association of the Department of English Language and Literature at The Catholic University of Korea, donated 10 million won to the English Language and Literature Department scholarship fund in commemoration of the university's 170th anniversary. The scholarship provides 1 million won per semester to two selected students as a living expense subsidy. Additionally, the Gayeonghoe board members donated an extra 1 million won to the general development fund, expressing their hope that it be used for necessary university projects.

Founded in 2005, Gayeonghoe has been donating to the English Language and Literature Department since 2009 and actively supports student initiatives such as the ‘1,000 Won Breakfast’ program.
