Microsoft Office365 Storage Capacity Limit Notice
Microsoft has made changes to the storage capacity of Office365 services available to domestic universities. As a result, our university will be implementing the following policies:
1. Changes to Office365
① Details
| Before change | After change |
Schoolwide Capacity | Unlimited | 100Tb |
Students Enrolled / On Leave Active Faculty Members | 5Tb | 100Gb |
Graduates / Alumni Retired Faculty | 5Tb | Unavailable (Accounts deleted) |
② Effective Dates
- Individual Capacity Limit: Effective from February 2024
- University-wide Capacity Limit: Scheduled to be effective from August 2024
③ Accounts affected: Users with university Microsoft accounts (@catholic.ac.kr)
※ After August 2024, if the overall university usage exceeds the capacity limit, there will be restrictions on file uploads, modifications, and changes for all members. Currently, our university's usage exceeds 100Tb
2. Implementation of University Policies
① Management of Accounts for Graduates, Alumni, Expelled Students, and Retired Faculty
- Effective Date: Gradual cleanup starting from April 30, 2024
- We urge all users to download their data before this date to prevent any loss.
② Blocking Excessive User Logins for Enrolled Students, Students on Leave, and Active Faculty
- Effective Date: May 13, 2024 (applies to excessive users for the day)
- Upon request for unblocking, temporary access will be granted, followed by a secondary blocking
if usage remains excessive
(secondary blocking will last for 3 months).
③ Usage of enrolled students and active faculty members may be adjusted downward based on overall usage trends.
※ We appreciate your understanding regarding the need to clean up accounts for graduates and retirees due to university-wide capacity constraints. We also seek the active cooperation of enrolled students and active faculty members to prevent usage restrictions for all users due to exceeding the university's overall capacity.
