[Guide to Applying for Credit Recognition of Other Majors for the 2026-1 Semester]

1. Eligibility

  • 4th-year enrolled students (4th year 1st semester, 4th year 2nd semester) and enrolled students in extra/extended semesters

  • ※ Application is NOT allowed if the academic status is 'Leave of Absence, Completion of Course, or Postponement of Course Completion'.

  • ※ Students scheduled to graduate in February 2026 who plan to apply for a Postponement of Course Completion cannot apply after their academic status changes to 'Postponed Completer'. Therefore, the application must be completed within this current designated period.

2. Application Period

  • A. 1st Period: July 7, 2026 (Tue) ~ July 8, 2026 (Wed) 09:00 ~ 17:00 (After the 1st semester grades are finalized)

  • B. 2nd Period: July 16, 2026 (Thu) 09:00 ~ 17:00 (After the summer school grades are finalized)

  • ※ Requesting additional applications after the application period is strictly prohibited under any circumstances, so please strictly adhere to the schedule.

3. Acceptable Credits

  • Certain majors do not operate the Credit Recognition System for Other Majors, so please verify the allowable number of credits for each specific major.

  • ※ Double Major Students: Can apply for up to a maximum of 6 credits, including the 1st and 2nd majors.

  • ※ Intensive 1st Major Students: Can apply for between 6 to 15 credits.

  • ※ Credit recognition of other majors can only be applied toward the 1st major and 2nd major; it does not apply to minor programs.

  • ※ There is no change to the total acquired credits; the credits will simply be recognized as your major credits.

4. Application Method & Result Verification

  • ▶ If any of the completed courses are eligible for other major credit recognition, log into Trinity to apply.

    • (Trinity → Class/Grades (수업/성적) → Class (수업) → Other Major Credit Recognition Application (Sungsim) [타전공학점인정신청(성심)]) / Refer to [Attachment 4] for the detailed application method.

    • ※ Refer to [Attachment 2] for the 'List of Eligible Courses for Credit Recognition of Other Majors'.

    • ※ Refer to [Attachment 3] for the 'Number of Recognizable Credits of Other Majors by Major'.

  • ▶ Please log into Trinity after 15:00 on the day following the deadline of each application period to check the approval results.

5. Important Precautions

  • ▶ When a double major (2nd major) student completes a course that is recognized by both the 1st and 2nd majors and applies for credit recognition of other majors, the credits can be double-counted (i.e., recognized as both Major Elective 1 [전선1] and Major Elective 2 [전선2] credits).

    • ※ There is no change to the total acquired credits, and the graduation requirement of acquiring 130 credits or more must still be fulfilled.

    • ※ Courses eligible for double credit recognition are limited strictly to the courses of the 1st major or the 2nd major.

    • ※ In the case of double credit recognition, the course classification on the transcript remains as originally recorded, but it will be successfully reflected as the applied major credit. (i.e., It will not be displayed as changed from Major Elective 1 → Major Elective 2 [or vice versa] on the transcript, but it will be normally recognized as the applied major credit.)

  • ▶ If a student completes a course from another major that is recognized in both the 1st and 2nd majors, the student must choose which major to receive credit for between the 1st major (Major Elective 1) and the 2nd major (Major Elective 2). (Only 1 of the 2 options can be selected).

  • ▶ If you do not apply for 'Credit Recognition of Other Majors' during the designated application period, it will not be recognized as major credits, so please be mindful of the application schedule.

  • ▶ The mutual credit recognition system between the Business Administration and Accounting majors is a separate system from this program, so please contact the respective department office for inquiries.

  • ▶ Applications can only be made if the target course title matches exactly.

  • ▶ Precautions for Students with a Convergent (Interdisciplinary) Major as their 2nd Major:

    • Including the credit recognition of other majors (max 6 credits for double majors), the double-counted credits between the convergent major courses and the student's 1st major are limited to a maximum of 12 credits. → For convergent majors, double credit recognition cannot exceed 12 credits.

  • ▶ Precautions for Multiple Teacher Certification (Double Major in Education) Students:

    • If a multiple teacher certification student completes a course recognized by both the 1st and 2nd majors and applies for credit recognition, the major credits for graduation will be double-counted. However, double-counting is NOT permitted for teacher certification major credits. Therefore, the minimum major credits required for the multiple teacher certification must be completed separately.

  • ▶ Cancellation is absolutely impossible due to personal circumstances once the approval for credit recognition of other majors has been processed. Please apply with discretion.

6. FAQ

  • Q1. I applied for credit recognition of other majors and it shows as 'Approved' on Trinity, but why is it not reflected on my transcript?

    • A1. It will not be displayed differently on the transcript itself. You can verify the approval status on the application screen (or via Academic Status/Graduation → Graduation-related Grade Inquiry by Student → Select Major → Check Other Major Status).

  • Q2. The course I want to take is not on the attached file list. Is it not recognized?

    • A2. Courses not included in the attached file list cannot be recognized. If the course titles are similar or confusing, please contact the inquiry desk.

  • Q3. I am a 3rd-year student who has finished 6 semesters, but the system won't let me apply.

    • A3. Applications are only available for 4th-year enrolled students who have completed at least 7 semesters.

  • Q4. I am graduating next semester. Can I apply after next semester ends?

    • A4. Since there is a designated application period after the semester ends and before the graduation assessment begins, applying in your final semester will be reflected in your graduation assessment.

  • Q5. I am currently in my 7th semester. Can I apply after this semester ends, and then apply again after the next semester ends?

    • A5. There is only a restriction on the maximum allowed credits; applying once every semester is not restricted. However, since the approval for credit recognition cannot be cancelled later, it is recommended to apply carefully after your very last semester ends.

  • Q6. Will applying for credit recognition of other majors cause any problems with my graduation?

    • A6. The responsibility for academic management lies entirely with the student. You must meticulously review your graduation requirements to ensure there are no issues. In particular, prospective graduates can contact their 1st major department office to re-verify whether they meet all graduation requirements regarding their credit recognition applications.
