2026 First Half Bomnae Scholarship Selection Announcement

The Chuncheon Talent Development Foundation hereby announces the selection of recipients for the 2026 first-half Bomnae Scholarship, with the aim of discovering and fostering outstanding local talent and promoting a sense of pride and affection for the local community.

1. Overview of Selection

○ Announcement Period: Mar. 24, 2026 (Tue) – Apr. 8, 2026 (Wed) [16 days]
○ Application Period: Mar. 30, 2026 (Mon) – Apr. 8, 2026 (Wed) [10 days]

○ Application Submission:

• Local Loyalty Scholarship → Administrative Welfare Center (Eup/Myeon/Dong) of the applicant’s residence

• Academic Excellence / Special Talent / Address Relocation / Distance University (St. John’s University) Scholarship → Chuncheon Talent Development Foundation
   (3, Sakju-ro, Main Building, 3rd Floor, Chuncheon Urban Corporation)

※ Applications may also be submitted in person or by registered mail (applications must arrive by the deadline)

○ Selection Method: Based on the scholarship selection criteria of the Chuncheon Talent Development Foundation

○ Scholarship Certificate: Issued on the day of the award ceremony (date and venue to be announced separately) or sent by mail

○ Scholarship Amount:

• High school students: KRW 500,000

• University students: Up to KRW 1,000,000

• 
  

  • Distance university students: Up to KRW 500,000

  • St. John’s University students: KRW 5,000,000

○ Payment Method: Transferred to the applicant’s (or guardian’s) bank account

○ Results & Payment Schedule: Around May 2026 (selected applicants will be notified individually)

○ Notes: Duplicate receipt of other scholarships is not allowed

Common

• Applicants who were recipients of this foundation’s scholarship in the previous semester (second half of 2025) are not eligible
  (Reapplication is allowed only for low-income category applicants)

• Duplicate applications for other scholarships or within the foundation are not allowed

• In case of a tie, applicants with greater financial need will be prioritized

Middle & High School Students

• Applicants who received another scholarship in the first half of 2026 are not eligible

• For high school freshmen, grades from the second semester of 9th grade will be converted (based on a 5-grade scale)

University Students

• Students who received full tuition exemption for the first semester of 2026, are on leave of absence, or are enrolled beyond the standard number of semesters are not eligible

• Applicants whose academic performance cannot be comparatively evaluated are not eligible (e.g., credit bank system, part-time programs)

• If tuition for the first semester of 2026 is partially exempted or supported, only the actual out-of-pocket amount will be provided

• For university freshmen, College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scores will be used

• For those who did not take the CSAT, high school senior (second semester) grades will be used
