Notice on Application for the 2026 “Elizabeth Kang Academic Research Grant”
The “Elizabeth Kang Academic Research Grant” of The Catholic University of Korea supports research and academic activities of mid-career and early-career scholars in the fields of Catholic theology, philosophy, and Catholic humanities, in order to promote the university’s founding philosophy of “Respect for Human Dignity.” We encourage the participation of all interested researchers.
1. Grant Details
a. Field: Catholic theology, philosophy, and Catholic humanities (research topics are open)
b. Research Type: Research papers, academic books, translations, and academic conferences
※ In 2026, priority will be given to book publication support
c. Research Funding:
1) Research paper: up to KRW 3,000,000 per project
2) Academic book or translation: up to KRW 10,000,000 per project
3) Domestic conference: up to KRW 2,000,000 per event / International conference: up to KRW 3,000,000 per event
2. Application Details
a. Eligibility: Individual researchers for single projects; project leader for joint research
※ Previously selected organizations may reapply three years after submission of research results
b. Required Documents:
1) Application form for research funding or conference support (1 copy)
2) Research proposal (1 copy)
- At least 3 A4 pages including objectives and necessity, research content, scope and method, background, expected outcomes and utilization plan, and references
- For translations: same as above, but must include at least 20% of the translated manuscript draft
3) Research achievements list (including co-researchers) (1 copy)
4) Consent form for collection and use of personal information (1 copy)
c. Application Period: September 8 (Mon) – November 9 (Sun), 2025
d. Submission Method: Email submission to kangeli_fund@catholic.ac.kr (Elizabeth Kang Academic Research Fund)
3. Application Forms and Notes
a. Application forms can be downloaded from the fund’s website under “Grant Application” (https://kangelifund.catholic.ac.kr) and submitted via email
b. Submitted documents will not be returned
c. Inquiries regarding review procedures, contents, or selection results will not be accepted
