The government has started implementing COVID-19 recovery policies, such as lifting social distancing measures, downgrading the disease level of COVID-19, and easing the outdoor mask mandate. In line with these policies, the Campus Academic Affairs Committee has decided on June 8, 2022, to operate classes for the fall semester of 2022 as follows.
1. Effective from: The start of the fall semester of 2022
2. Class operation method: All classes to be held in-person
※ This can change based on the government's quarantine guidelines
[Songsim] Notice on Class Operations Effective May 18 Updated 22.5.11
In expectation of the full transition to in-person classes due to take effect on May 18, we had previously considered using the Andrea Dormitory as temporary accommodation for long-distance commuting students. However, the construction company has advised against using the building as of yet. Therefore, on May 11, the Campus Academic Affairs Committee decided to allow classes to be operated based on the Level 2 rule (odd-even system) for interested students.
If you have students who tested positive for COVID-19 or students who prefer the odd-even system, please maintain the hybrid (virtual and in-person) class format for now. Students who wish to attend in-person classes may do so, regardless of the 2/3 classroom capacity limit.
[Songsim] Notice on Classes for the First Semester of 2022 Updated 22.5.6

(2) When a professor or lecturer is tested positive: Classes are held virtually
3. COVID-19 absence (including confirmed or suspected cases, etc.) will be maintained as is so that it does not affect students’ attendance.
4. In order to prevent the spread of the virus due to full in-person classes, all members on campus should follow the preventive measures thoroughly and wear a mask at all times on campus, either indoors or outdoors (except for when eating).
[Songsim] Notice on Classes for the First Semester of 2022
Updated 04/20/2022
In accordance with the government’s post-Omicron recovery scheme, the Academic Board (04/20/2022) had discussed plans to adopt a phased implementation of the revised quarantine guidelines and resume 100% in-person classes. However, considering that the number of daily confirmed cases still exceeds 100,000, as well as concerns for long-distance commuters and the students’ health, we have decided to maintain the class format previously announced for the first semester of 2022 [Online and offline hybrid classes (odd or even number system). However, up to two-thirds of the lecture room capacity may attend class, pertaining to fully vaccinated individuals only] until further guidance from the government.
*Classes for the first semester of 2022 will operate according to Level 2 guidelines.
