What is the Housing Stability Scholarship?

A scholarship that supports up to 200,000 KRW per month for the cost of housing for students attending universities far from home.




Submission Period for Documents and Consent for Household Income Survey

'25.11.20.(Thu) 9:00 ~ '26.1.2.(Fri) 18:00

*Documents must be submitted to receive a screening based on the reported address and household income.




Application Target

  • Students who are currently enrolled (including freshmen, transfer students, and re-entry students) in a university in Korea.

  • Recipients of Basic Livelihood Support or students from the bottom quartile of income decile who are under the age of 39.

Conditions

Exclusion

◎ The student's and their parents'/guardian's primary residences are located in different municipalities (cities/counties).

◎ Students residing in the dormitory (excluding students with disabilities)

◎ Major Metropolitan Areas (Cities): Seoul/Busan/Daegu/Gwangju/Daejeon/Incheon/Jeonju/Cheonan/Gwangju(Jeonnam)/Cheongju/Chuncheon/Wonju

◎ Students residing at their parents'/guardian's address and commuting (even if the commuting distance is long)

◎ The commuting distance between the university and the student's residence is 1 hour or more (verified by Naver map route search).

◎ Students in the final semester

◎ Residence is maintained by paying a monthly rent (up to 12 months)

◎ Students who are not paying monthly rent, such as those living in Jeonse (lump-sum deposit)


  • Note: For applicants who do not have a primary residence due to a family matter, a separate deliberation/waiver may be granted upon submission of supporting documents.




Support Amount and Payment Method

  • Up to 200,000 KRW per month for the housing expenses (maximum 2,400,000 KRW annually) submitted by the student.

  • The actual housing expenses (monthly rent) paid by the student will be calculated and paid after the final selection (paid directly to the student's account).

Utility Fees

Maintenance/Management Fees

Monthly Rent

Lease deposit payment/transfer, Lease search fee

Security Deposit, Repair expenses, Service usage fees, etc.

Cannot be used for: Water, electricity, heating costs, garbage disposal fees, and management fees.
