The "2024 Catholic University's 62nd 207 ROTC Inauguration Ceremony" was held at the Conference Hall on February 20.

President Won Jong-chul, Priest Son Gyung-rak, and Commander Kim Su-won of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps, as well as cadets and their families, attended the event.

This inauguration ceremony officially appointed 13 cadets who completed and passed their major studies, military science, military drills, comprehensive commission tests, and other requirements as the Korean Army's official second lieutenant.

On top of Battalion Commander candidate Kim Young-jun (Japanese Language and Literature, 20), a total of 13 cadets from the 62nd ROTC were commissioned as second lieutenants. From the 63rd ROTC, 18 of them were promoted, while 21 students enlisted in the 64th ROTC.

“I am filled with pride for these candidates who are commissioned as officers with the heart to protect the country facing security challenges," said President Won. He added, "I ask each and every one of you to train your body and mind and become officers that respect humans.”

Second Lieutenant Jang Se-min (Energy and Environmental Engineering, 20) said, “This moment is particularly more meaningful as I continue the road my grandfather and father had taken as officers. As a second lieutenant of the ROKA, I will become the officer that works for the security of the nation.” 

These new officers will attend the integrated inauguration ceremony on the 28th in the Army Cadet Military School before enrolling in their respective specialty schools and taking the first step as officers of the Republic of Korea.
