On February 24th, Monsignor Park Shin-eon, chairman of the Pastoral Fund of Archdiocese of Seoul, delivered KRW 100 million to Father Choi Jun-gyu, the head of our University Development Promotion Project as scholarship for North Korean defectors at the diocesan curia of Archdiocese of Seoul. This annual event has been around since 2018, and KRW 100 million has been raised every year, totaling up to KRW 400 million as of this year.

To aid successful settlement of North Korean defectors who are the social minority, and cultivate future leaders of churches in Korea, our university started a scholarship project for North Korean defectors from 2017. The program support tuition fees, living expenses, and dormitory fees. Also a dedicated support center has been established to provide a personalized management service to help them better adjust to university life. In addition, the program supports students who have been selected for this program after screening process in various aspects such as learning, research, career, and living.
