Extensive Study of the Psychology of Children and Parents

Professor Jeong Yoon-gyeong is well known for the highest authority and popularity in the field of child development psychology. She has made appearances on “Live Broadcasting Parents” of EBS and documentaries “Mother Shock” and “Perfect Baby,” and PD Kim Min-tae of EBS has praised her as the “greatest mentor in the field of developmental psychology.”

Child Development Psychology Expert
I have received a degree in developmental psychology and studied deeper into the field of child development psychology over time. I have often appeared in EBS programs and it turns out that I have appeared in about ten programs altogether. At the same time, I have been active as a child psychology expert. Recently, I have been researching on developing contents for AI devices. I have been especially working hard on developing a children’s version for AI virtual assistant Bixby applied in smart devices of Samsung. This is because we can implement various educational values for children in conversations with AI devices. I want to be remembered as a “psychologist who persists in her studies.” A professor is a “profession of learning to share knowledge,” and I would like to remain true to such role. I still have a lot to study in the field of psychology as a scholar, but my hope is to be a studying psychologist as I must continue to learn if I wish to share knowledge with others.

Tips for Raising Children
Unlike other animals, humans take a very long time until becoming independent. The time of nurturing is very long. This also means that the period of time where parents take responsibility for their children is just as long. Furthermore, our country is very passionate about education, so we often wonder about how our children truly feel on their inside (psychology). First, “Tendency” is something we have to accept like fate. Parents know best when it comes to the tendency of children, and such tendencies could be slightly improved over time, but it is a characteristic that our children carry throughout their lifetimes. So rather than trying to change the tendencies of our children that we do not prefer, it is better to often tell them how much you adore them. Then, such negatively perceived tendencies often work in a positive way. Just like me, there are many working mothers who I would like to say that it is about quality rather than quantity in communication with our children. You cannot be perfect in both your career and raising children, so it would be recommended that you choose and focus on what you must do as a priority in the education of your children. Also, it is not good for children to use smartphones too early, and it is best to give smartphones to children as late as possible. They can briefly use the smartphones of their parents, but it is best to delay them from searching content and finding what they desire online as much as possible.

Attitude as a Scholar of Psychology
Psychology is a field of study with humans at its very core, and it is great to have a lot of interest in people. Also, it would be even better to have analytic capabilities. This is because it is the nature of psychology to be continuously curious about people and studying and analyzing them. For students who wish to major in counseling and clinical therapy, it would be great if you are someone who wishes to sympathize with others. The reason for this is that clients can relax when they receive counseling when counselors have such a mindset.
