  • On November 20, the LINC+ project unit of our university held the 7th Humanities and Social Sciences Academic-Industrial Cooperation Forum of the Catholic University of Korea-Sharing and Spreading of LINC+ Project Humanities and Social Sciences Industry-Academic Cooperation Achievements at Conrad Seoul Hotel. More than 50 attendees joined the event, including President Fr. Luke Jong-chul Won, Ed.D., Dong-hyun Lee, the head of the LINC+ project, Sang-deok Han, the head of Academic-Industrial Cooperation at National Research Foundation of Korea, as well as other members from the participating universities in the LINC+ Humanities and Social Sciences Academic-Industrial Cooperation program.

     

    President Fr. Luke Jong-chul Won, Ed.D. said in the welcoming remark, “It is very meaningful that the universities in pursuit of facilitating Academic-Industrial Cooperation in humanities and social sciences among the 55 universities participating in the LNC+ project are gathered here today,” and “I hope today’s event can serve as a venue for sharing and spreading the achievements made through academic-industrial cooperation in the fields of humanities and social sciences and make great contributions to growing the role of humanities in our society.

     

    This forum was prepared to share achievements and seek ways for further make advancement through the analysis of academic-industrial cooperation cases of the LINC+ project participating universities in humanities and social sciences. The participants discussed in details ways to expand the scope of academic-industrial cooperation not just center on the engineering and manufacturing industries as it is, but to encompass other industries linked to high added value such as the fields of humanities, society, art, and services. They also presented reinforcing the role of universities in solving various community problems as the solution to bringing up the effects of academic-industrial cooperation in the field of humanities and social sciences to the fullest and had in-depth discussion on the topic.
