• The Catholic University of Korea and Samkwang Bio-tree Group Signed a Business Agreement on the Development of the Medic

  • On the 29th, the university signed a business agreement with Samkwang Bio-tree Group in the Professor's Research Building. This agreement was signed for the mutual business cooperation and creation of the Talent Development University-Industry Cooperation Fund for human resources development to contribute to the development of the medical/bio industry, which is the nation's new growth engine. The two institutions agreed to mutually cooperate in △the operation of educational programs and personal interchange through the creation of the Talent Development University-Industry Cooperation Fund [CP1] △the establishment of a research and development cooperation system between the two institutions, such as joint research △joint development and promotion of social contribution projects.

     

    President Fr. Luke Jongchul Won, Ed.D., who attended the signing ceremony, said, “We are pleased that this agreement with Samkwang Bio-tree Group will foster customized persons with talents that will drive the development of the national medical/bio industry," and added, "We will work hard to foster excellent human resources for businesses.".

     

    Taeguk Hwang, the chairman of Samkwang Bio-tree Group, said, "We hope that students with excellent potential will grow into convergent talents that carry practical skills by supporting the Talent Development University-Industry Cooperation Fund and providing them with experience in the corporate field."

     

    Meanwhile, the Catholic University of Korea, which operates the largest eight affiliated hospitals in Korea, has recently established a cluster of high-tech fields of medical life (△Biomedical Sciences △Biomedical Chemical Engineering △Biotechnology △Pharmacy △Medicine △nursing), and clusters of high-tech areas of the fourth industrial revolution (△Artificial Intelligence △Medical Artificial Intelligence △Data Science △Computer Engineering △Information and Communications △Media △Big Data) as selections for the two pillars of university innovation.
