  • The “National Efficacy Evaluation Center for Arthritis and Immune Diseases“ led by Professor Park Seong-hwan, the head of the Rheumatology Research Center of the College of Medicine, has been selected as the 2020 Medical Technology Commercialization Support Center (The National Efficacy Evaluation Center for Disease) project promoted by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and will receive approximately KRW 3.7 billion over the next three years.

In August 2015, the center has begun efficacy evaluation services for arthritis and immune diseases through T2B (Technology to Business) infrastructure construction project, the predecessor of the efficacy evaluation center for diseases. From the opening of the center to March this year, the service infrastructure was established, and the efficacy of approximately 93 drugs under development by corporates or individual researchers has been evaluated, which led to excellent results including clinical trials (4 domestic cases, 2 overseas cases), technology transfer (3 cases), thesis (35 cases), and patents (52 cases). The success of these results has been recognized, allowing for 3 years of follow-up research.
