  • Professor Wooram Park of the Department of Biomedical-Chemical Engineering (newly established in 2020) summarized the latest research trends in biomaterials for high-efficiency immunotherapy and published them in the “International Materials Reviews (IF 21.086),” a global journal in the field of biomaterials, on March 2020.

※ International Materials Reviews is one of the most highly recognized journal in the field of biomaterials published by British publisher Taylor & Francis, with an impact factor of 21.086.

Professor Park studied at the Department of Biotechnology for his undergraduate, master’s, and doctor’s degree, and trained and conducted research as a professor of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cha Medical School after studying radiology at Northwestern University in the United States.

From the first semester of 2020, Professor Wooram Park joined the Department of Biomedical-Chemical Engineering of The Catholic University of Korea and established the “Biomedical New Material and Imaging Lab,” focusing on education and research. Professor Park has published theses in over 70 top-level domestic and international journals in the fields of Nano-biotechnology and Bio Imaging, and is recognized as an outstanding young scientist with numerous intellectual property rights and technology transfer achievements both domestically and internationally. In addition, Professor Park is an active academician and editor at ▲ The Korean Society for Biomaterials, ▲ Korean Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society, ▲ Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering, ▲Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, ▲ Korean Interventional Medical Devices Society, and ▲ The Organoid Society.

When asked about his new start at his alma mater and his opinions about his recent research results, Professor Park said, “I will do my best both materially and spiritually so that my students can become global leaders in biomedical-chemical engineering in the future.”
