  • Rev. Msgr. Raphael Park Shin Eon (Right in the picture) delivered the KRW 100 million scholarship fund for North Korean refugees to Rev. Michael Jun-gui Choi, the Head of the University Development Promotion Team, at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese Office of Seoul in the morning of February 12th.

The Foundation has donated KRW 100 million each year from 2018 to 2020, summing up to a total of KRW 300 million through three installments – the last of which was delivered on this day. Since 2017, the university has been carrying out scholarship programs for North Korean refugees, to help the successful settlement of North Korean refugee students, who are disadvantaged in our society, and to foster church leaders for unified Korea in the future. While supporting tuition, living and dormitory fees, the university is providing personalized management to help students adjust to the university life through the establishment of a separate support center. For undergraduate students, 100% of the admission and tuition fee, KRW 500 thousand, a month for living expenses, and a dormitory room are provided. For graduate students, the full amount of the admission and tuition fee is covered by the university. When deemed necessary, the university provides support for other endeavors, such as learning, research, career, and living, through appropriate evaluations.
