Professor Kim Kichan (Photo) in Business Administration Department has been appointed as the next president of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB).

Professor Kim was appointed as the president at the council meeting that was held last 6th (local time) in Washington DC, the United States. He will be serving as the incoming president for a year, and he will officially be wearing the hat of the president next July 2023.

He had served the council as the president last 2015, and not only that, he had served in various positions in multiple organizations, including the president of the Korean Academy of Motor Industry, and an associate editor for the Journal of Small Business Management.

The ICSB was founded in 1995, where professors, researchers, policymakers, and entrepreneurs in the field of entrepreneurship and small business work together across the globe. It cooperates with the United Nations to create jobs for the youth and to ensure a sustainable future. Not only that, it publishes JSBM, the famous journal in the area of small business and entrepreneurship.

At the conference held in the US Congress on the last 6th, Professor Kim gave a speech saying, “Human-centered entrepreneurship is all about making work desirable, not painful.” And later, he emphasized, “Once entrepreneurs become human-centered, we can create a better world.”
