  • We Will Head to the “Lowest Places.”

    Volunteer Club “Caritas Volunteer Corps”

“To the lowest places of society.” The word “Caritas” of the Caritas Volunteer Corps comes from the Catholic word “caritas,” which means love, fraternity and sharing. The Caritas Volunteer Corps is a club that practices various volunteer works to realize such values of caritas. We met the head of the 4th Caritas Volunteer Corps, Yoo-jung Oh (Major in Social Welfare, 17’), and heard about the volunteer service that the club is pursuing.

Operated by the undergraduate school, Caritas Volunteer Corps is a volunteer club that includes priests, faculty members, student representatives, vice representatives, executives, and around 70 club members. The club is currently associated with non-profit social welfare organizations in Gyeonggi-do and nearby regions of Seoul. For all residents of the community including children, seniors, multicultural families, and handicapped people, members of the club visit the organization around once a week to provide help and volunteer service.

“To the lowest places,” which is the keynote of the Caritas Volunteer Corps, is not just about helping people in need within society. Members also become their friends, grow with them, and share emotions. When conducting fundraising or campaign activities together for group volunteer activities and specially planned volunteer work, a lot of communication and effort are made between members of the club. Members share the meaning of going to the lowest place through various efforts.

At the Caritas Volunteer Corps, members with a pure passion for volunteer work and the undergraduate school unite to support each other for the main goal of heading towards the lowest places of our society. In addition, the club offers various benefits such as providing ELP extracurricular scores, recording volunteering time in the Trinity school register, scholarships within the club, volunteer rooms, and preferential treatment in selection for international volunteer services. Your support is a great help to all people in need, so if you are interested, please don’t hesitate to contact the club at any time!
