• Welcoming the Class of 2024: Entrance Mass

  • The entrance mass for the incoming class of 2024 was celebrated with dignity on the 4th at Myeongdong Cathedral, Seoul, presided over by Cardinal Soo-jung Yeom. The ceremony was a meaningful start for the 2,089 new students and their families joining the CUK community.



     


    In-chae Hwang from the Department of Pharmacy took the matriculation oath on behalf of all freshmen of 2024 and pledged to work hard at the university. Recognized for their exemplary potential, Jo Jeong-woong (Theology '24), Sim Hyo-eun (Pre-Med '24), and Hwang In-chae (Pharmacy '24) were honored with scholarships for outstanding incoming students.


    In his homily, Cardinal Soo-jung Yeom extended a warm welcome to the new students embarking on a new life at the Catholic University of Korea after concluding their long journey as examinees. He expressed his hope that "students will discover the truth that allows themselves, society, and humanity to live together in happiness within the learning community of Catholic University."

     

    President Jongchul Won, in his welcome remarks, assured that "the Catholic University of Korea will continuously support you to materialize your dreams and realize your ideals." He encouraged the new students, stating, "You will discover your talents and, through numerous experiences of success and failure during your university life, you will find your true self," celebrating the bright future ahead for the new students.
