  •  Catholic University of Korea (President Won Jongchul) and the Incheon City Education Office (Superintendent Doh Sunghun) assume the role of guiding career paths for high school students within the region. The Catholic University of Korea and Incheon City Education Office signed an MOU for the operation of "Dream Link University," linking the High School Credit System to regions and the promotion of extracurricular educational activity support.

The "Dream Link University," run by the Incheon City Education Office, is a type of career experience program that offers curriculum convergence and exploratory courses tailored to individual high school students in the Incheon area in collaboration with local universities and organizations.  The Incheon City Education Office sought collaboration with the Catholic University of Korea to facilitate the operation of the High School Credit System, which is scheduled to be fully implemented in 2025, as well as to assist local high school students in career and study choice, competency building, and other areas.

At the ceremony, the two organizations agreed to work closely together on sharing human/physical resources, supporting budgets, enhancing extracurricular educational activities, developing curriculum and assisting with its operation for the operation of Dream Link University, and putting effort into the development of the High School Credit System and relevant learning activities.

Beginning in May, CUK plans to offer courses at Dream Link University to high school students. Full-time professors at the university will assist students in choosing career paths through cultural studies lectures that reflect their interests, such as psychology, art, etc.

"For the past 16 years, CUK has participated in the High School Contribution University Support Project, and its contribution to the significant consolidation of high school education has been widely recognized. As a result, we now have the opportunity to operate Dream Link University in collaboration with the Incheon City Education Office," explained Noh Sangwok, Director of Admission. "We will not only help students with their career and major exploration activities, but we will also strive to be a model for a future High School Credit System.”

Meanwhile, CUK was selected for the "2022-2024 High School Contribution University Support Project" last year.  Since being chosen as the pilot university for the Admission Officer System in 2007, CUK has been selected for the High School Contribution University Support Project 16 years in a row, making it the most frequent selection in Korea and demonstrating that the university is widely recognized in terms of fairness, transparency, and social accountability for the entrance evaluations.  To that end, the university offers a variety of programs such as admission result-sharing seminars, admission mentoring, and class supports for the High School Credit System, among others, in order to provide accurate and transparent admission information and assist high school students in their career searches, thereby contributing to the enrichment of high school education.
