  • Notice on the Designation of Restricted Areas for E-scooters Inside the Campus

Due to the increase of e-scooter users on campus, we have been constantly receiving complaints over the safety of the pedestrians as e-scooter users’ indiscriminately ride on sidewalks, speed, and unruly park their e-scooters on roads and sidewalks. In particular, since the university campus has steep slopes, this geographical feature posits a higher chance of accidents, such as collisions and rollover accidents.Such incidents could result in severe accidents, endangering precious lives.

Therefore, starting from Thursday, April 27, 2023, the university will designate two areas with heavy foot traffic as restricted areas for e-scooters for the prevention of safety accidents. We ask you to comply with the below guidelines and cooperate in making our campus safer.

    ■ E-scooter Restricted Areas

    1. Road in front of the Sophie Barat Hall (Area marked with red arrow)

    2. The road that leads from the Maria Hall (ROTC) to the plaza in front of the dormitory and church will be restricted for e-scooters once the plaza construction is finished.
