The 40th Exhibition of the Department of Spatial Design & Consumer Studies for the 2025 academic year was held at the Kim Sou-hwan Hall Conference Room from November 3 to 7. The event was attended by President Choon Kyu Choi, faculty members, about 90 current students, and 40 alumni.

Celebrating its 40th year, the annual exhibition showcased works produced by students in their major courses. Organized by the student council Chaedo and supported by faculty members, the event provided students with hands-on experience in planning, designing, installing, and dismantling the exhibition—from the summer vacation through to the event—enhancing their practical and collaborative skills.

This year’s theme, Spectrum of Spots, represents “the challenges that began from small points becoming light for one another, forming a spectrum that embodies 40 years of accumulated achievement.” Each piece reflected the students’ individuality and passion for growth, drawing much attention.

In his congratulatory remarks, President Choon Kyu Choi said, “I was truly impressed by the high quality of the students’ work. Their passion and effort were clearly visible, and I look forward to the department’s continued growth.”

Student council president Yurim Kim (Class of 2023, Department of Spatial Design & Consumer Studies), who oversaw the preparation, shared, “It was deeply rewarding to present the works we prepared together. It was even more meaningful to celebrate the 40th exhibition alongside the university’s 170th anniversary.”

A total of about 250 works from 18 curricular and extracurricular courses were displayed. The exhibition provided students with an opportunity to explore diverse outcomes of their studies, helping them refine their learning direction, course plans, and career paths.

Additionally, an Exhibition Review Exchange Session was held, where 40 alumni active in various fields shared feedback and advice on the works. Officials from Bucheon City’s Architectural Design Division also visited the exhibition to view the students’ projects.
